Me

First of all, how DO you pronounce Michal Dzierza? Try ['mee:how] [gee'er-sha]. How did that go?

But anyway, if you can’t, don’t let it stress you. I’m used to being called many unpronouceable names.

Professionally, I’m a multimedia journalist, editor and photographer.

I spend a lot of time taking images, making videos, discovering new ways of creating and distributing stories – and telling people how to do it. (I guess I know enough to be able to start sharing what I know with confidence, but being naturally curious, I will never stop learning and exploring new ideas.)

Those stories can be told in pictures, words, moving images or sound. Or a combination of them.

Over the past almost twenty years, I have worked as a radio presenter, reporter, radio and press correspondent, news reader, website editor, photographer. Not necessarily in that order.

I wrote for newspapers, magazines, websites, blogs. Not necessarily in that order.

I edited websites, newspaper articles, books, blogs, radio shows, images, videos. I also translated books. I interviewed people and occasionally got star-struck.

My images got published in the New York Times, Petersfield Herald and Londonist. Some of them can be seen in galleries in London and Leeds. But I’m hoping that there’s more to come.

I worked for, among others, Radio Flash, the BBC, News International, Orange and currently Demand Media. In that order. And what a journey it’s been.

I’ve done a million things in between – and I’ve learned something from all of them. But, as I said, I’m still learning.

Some of those learnings will surface on this blog – and whatever they are they will remain my own. Which means that this is my private blog, and everything that happens here has nothing to do with my current, past or any potential future employer.

Thanks for visiting – and do say hi, leave a comment, or tell others about my blog. The more of us here, the merrier.
